Seattle Food Writer (USA today and Culinate) and former Washington Post reporter Kim O’Donnel recently released her meatless cookbook for meat lovers. Yes, meatless for meat lovers.
The cookbook encourages carnivores to give meat a break in collaboration with Meatless Mondays, an international campaign aimed at reducing meat consumption and therefore improving personal health and the health of the planet.
The Meatlover’s Meatless Cookbook has easy to make, hearty and satisfying recipes like Black Bean Sweet Potato Chili and Jig Inducing Falafel Burgers that will satisfy carnivores and vegetarians alike.
If you are interested in meeting Kim O’Donnel, you can catch her at Oddfellows Cafe & Bar with owner Linda Derschang and Chef Thomas Shultz as they launch their Meatless Monday campaign at the restaurant where they will offer vegetarian-only specials every Monday in addition to their regular menu. Derschang’s restaurant & bar Smith will be following the meatless campaign as well. O’Donnel will be signing books on Nov. 29, from 6-8 pm and recipes from her book will be on the evening menu.
The book can be purchased at regular bookstores or at Amazon. Photos by Myra Kohn.
